2024 Law School Conference

Let’s Talk AI and A2J: How Law Schools, Civil Legal Services, and the Courts Together Can Harness Technology to Address the Justice Gap 

 

The Permanent Commission on Access to Justice, in partnership with Fordham University School of Law, convened the 12th annual Law School Conference, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, 1:00pm – 5:00pm via Zoom. This free virtual conference brought together representatives from New York’s law schools, civil legal services organizations, the courts, community organizations and other partners to discuss how generative AI can be used to expand access to justice. Attendance was free and open to all interested stakeholders. 

Recordings of the sessions will be posted in the Agenda at some point next month.

The Conference program included an opening plenary on the impact of AI on legal education, a rapid fire tech session that will showcase exciting examples of AI tools and four concurrent sessions to delve deeper into the power of AI and how it can be used to expand access to justice.

Continuing Education Credit (CLE)

The New York State Permanent Commission on Access to Justice extends its deep appreciation to Fordham University School of Law, St. John's Law School, University of Buffalo School of Law, and Albany Law Law School for providing CLE for this conference. NY and NJ attendees can earn up to 3.5 credits. CLE materials are posted in the agenda. 

You must listen for the CLE Code (two codes for concurrent sessions) announced during the session and complete the CLE paperwork. Information on how to request CLE will be emailed to registrants and can be found in the Agenda. Please note that there are different instructions and forms depending on who is the CLE provider for the session.
