8th JD Internship Opportunities

The 8th Judicial District containing Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties is one of thirteen judicial districts across New York State. Our judges and court staff work each day to fulfill the mission of the Unified Court System (UCS) to deliver equal justice under the law and to achieve the just, fair and timely resolution of all matters that come before our courts. We are pleased to offer two summer internship programs one for High School students and one for Law School students who are interested in learning more about our justice system and the work of the courts.

High school Internship Program

The High School Internship Program is a three-week summer program, scheduled to begin on Friday, July 8th and end Thursday, July 25th. Interns are expected to work Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This summer internship will enable students to be knowledgeable about different careers in the court system. Students will be able to work directly with judges, judicial chambers staff and other dedicated professionals in the non-judicial ranks of the Unified Court System and have access to professional development programs.
