The Binghamton Adult Drug Treatment Court provides qualified addicted offenders a comprehensive drug treatment program under intensive judicial supervision which includes educational and vocational training. The offenders addiction and family environment will be addressed with goals of returning a sober, productive person to society, reuniting families, reducing welfare roles and enhancing public safety.
After over a year of intensive planning and training the Binghamton Adult Drug Treatment Court took it's first Drug Court Case on June 14, 2002.
The Drug Court team participated in a number of trainings through a federal planning grant awarded to us through the U.S. Department of Justice. Our travels took us to Dallas, Texas; Akron, Ohio and Salt Lake City, Utah. Each training site afforded us the opportunity to work with others from around the country as well as our own team to design a Drug Court that fit the needs of our community.
