Basic Mediation Training was held on October 21,22 and 23 in Orange County with 15 individuals completing the basic three-day training. Marc Sheridan, from Markus and Sheridan, LLP offered an information training program that captured the interest of all who attended. The program began with a panel of 11 of the Orange County judges discussing the benefits of ADR. The Judges greeted the attendees and gave their input on the benefits of mediation. It is anticipated that all, if not most, will proceed to complete the remaining steps to join the 9th JD Mediator Roster and provide a valuable resource to the Orange County legal community.

The training was one of three planned sessions in the district by the Ninth JD access to Justice Committee
Additional trainings are planned in Dutchess County in November and Putnam County in December.
