Joanne Sirotkin, Attorney-in-Charge, White Plain Office, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley

Joanne Sirotkin is the Attorney-in-Charge of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley’s White Plains office, overseeing a staff of more than 25 attorneys, social workers, paralegals, and support personnel.  She joined Legal Services of the Hudson Valley in November 2013 as Attorney Manager of Domestic Violence Services, bringing expertise as an experienced attorney and specialist in the dynamics of intimate partner abuse.  

Prior to joining Legal Services, Joanne was employed as Special Litigation and Appeals Council within the Legal Center of My Sisters’ Place, Inc., a full-service domestic violence agency in Westchester County.  Joanne also worked in private practice at Faust, Roy, Mangold and Fuchs and Lansner and Kubitschek where she was part of the trial team in Nicholson v. Williams and Nicholson v. Scoppetta.  

In addition to her responsibilities managing the legal program of the White Plains Office, Joanne’s job duties include coordination of substantive domestic violence practice.  In 2021, Joanne also helped to found LSHV’s first multidisciplinary Family Defense Unit representing parents at every stage of CPS involvement from the investigation through court matters.  Joanne also participates in technology development working groups both in and outside the organization.  

Joanne received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she was an Edward V. Sparer Public Interest Law Fellow, and she received her B.A. from SUNY Albany.
