Statewide Stakeholders Meeting 2020

In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Statewide Stakeholders Meeting was held virtually, using the Teams platform for a half-day program.  As in past years, the meeting brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, including judicial leadership, and provided an opportunity for attendees to share experiences and accomplishments in the wake of the pandemic.

After opening remarks, updates were provided by the Administrative Judges outside New York City and Judge Edwina Mendelson, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for Justice Initiatives, on the many initiatives implemented across the State to address the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Four breakout sessions followed, focusing  on virtual proceedings, innovative pilot projects, ways to address the impending eviction crisis, and local initiatives to address racial injustice in the courts. After lively discussions, all four groups returned to a final plenary session to discuss their recommendations.

During this challenging time, the Stakeholders Meeting once again demonstrated the value of bringing stakeholders together to share their knowledge and expertise.
