Third Judicial District
On September 11, 2019, the Hon. Thomas A. Breslin, Administrative Judge of the Third Judicial District, and Ulster County officials hosted a Senior Law Day at Woodland Pond in New Paltz, a graduated senior care facility. The event included a moment of silence in commemoration of the victims of 9/11. The presentations addressed Medicare, Medicaid and Liens; Elder Abuse and Scams; Article 81 Guardianships; and Surrogate’s Court proceedings. Presenters included Acting Supreme Court Justice Keri Savona, Surrogate Sara McGinty and her Law Clerk Judith Nolfo, Ulster County DSS Commissioner Michael Iapoce, and Ulster County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Kavanaugh. This is one in a series of Senior Law Days that the UCS is planning around the State, working with the court system’s community and local government partners.
