New York County Supreme Court, 111 Centre Street, NYC

This year marks the seventeenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks which took place in New York City, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Two thousand seven hundred and fifty-three people died at the World Trade Center including three of our own court officers. Members of the Unified Court System Honor Guard along with  The New York State Courts Pipes and Drums mustered at the Saint Andrews Church for the annual procession up Centre Street. This was followed by a ceremony at 111 Centre Street. Many in uniform lost their lives that day in their efforts to save others. As with past anniversaries, the Unified Court System and New York County Supreme Court remembers the three Court Officers who made the supreme sacrifice: Captain Harry Thompson, Sergeant Thomas Jurgens and Sergeant Mitchel Wallace.
