Biography of Gina M. Patterson

Gina M. Patterson, Esq. is Assistant Deputy Counsel to the Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics. In this new role Ms. Patterson is part of a small team providing ethics advice and training to judges, researching and drafting ethics advisory opinions, providing ethics advice by telephone, and developing educational programming on a wide variety of ethics issues.

Before joining the ACJE, Ms. Patterson served as an Associate Court Attorney to Criminal Term justices of the Supreme Court, Kings County. She was first appointed as a court attorney to then-Chief Administrative Judge Neil Jon Firetog. During her tenure in Supreme Court, Ms. Patterson provided legal and procedural advice on criminal proceedings, handled expedited cases in the Citywide Gun Initiative, and led an effort to overhaul the processing of new cases from grand jury to disposition or trial. She also has extensive experience researching and drafting opinions for judges on both pre-trial and postconviction motions.

Ms. Patterson earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
