Statewide Stakeholders Meeting 2018

To advance community engagement statewide, the Permanent Commission convened its second Statewide Stakeholders Meeting on October 1, 2018 at the State Bar Center in Albany, bringing together diverse stakeholders to share knowledge, strategies and best practices for developing local access-to-justice plans.

Participants in the meeting included law school administrators and faculty, bar leaders, legal services providers, community and social service organization representatives, government officials and agency representatives, and librarians, as well as those at the highest levels of court leadership. The meeting created momentum for development of local initiatives throughout the State, including the establishment of local Access to Justice Committees in every judicial district outside New York City, under the leadership of the local Administrative Judge.
